  • New ACA Workbook Group: Starting Sunday April 19th a workbook step study group will meet Sundays from 3:30-5:00PM. We plan to complete the 12 Steps within approximately 5-6 months.  Read more here

  • Intergroup is pleased to announce our next Meadows speaker event at 7pm on November 6th, 2014.  Dr. Nancy Bailey, Clinical Director of The Meadows trauma and addiction center in Wickenburg will give us a talk entitled: Guilty Until Realized Worthy – Journey in Recovery.  The event will be held at North Scottsdale United Methodist Church in Scottsdale.  Please spread the word at all of your meetings.  Thank you to the Thursday Night Healing meeting for making this happen.   • The North Scottsdale Fellowship Club updated their website to include a link to our ACA Arizona website.
  • The annual Art of Recovery Expo was September 20th.   All of the various 12-step programs had booths there, as did ACA.  Your ACA Intergroup is sponsoring the booth, and the Steps for Life meeting in Tempe was staffing it.  Thank you Janet and Keith for making this happen.  Spreading the word about our program at this venue is invaluable.  Picture here.

  • On July 31st, 2014 at 7pm, Dr. Shelly Uram of The Meadows will speak to ACA on the subject of “PSYCHOLOGICAL TRAUMA AND THE BRAIN”.   Join us at the address listed on this flyer.  Please help us spread the word by taking some flyers to your meetings.  Update: We had 155 ACA’s attend this event.   In addition to the recovery experience, the exposure to the ACA program was priceless.

  • Arizona Intergroup to hold first conference call Intergroup meeting vs. the traditional face to face Intergroup meeting on Sunday April 27th at 1:00pm.   The hope is that by making the Intergroup meeting more accessible to all, we will have better participation.  Feel free to join and listen or participate.
  • Dr. Jon Caldwell is asking for our help with his research.  The purpose of these questionnaires is two-fold: First, to help you become more familiar with the issues of shame and self-compassion.   • The Annual ACA Picnic was on Saturday March 8th, and was a great success.  Read more here.
  • Your Intergroup donations at work!  Intergroup donated two new ACA Red Books to the Phoenix Public Library system.   The books will be available for checkout in late February.  A reader can go to any Phoenix library and have a book transferred to the location of their choice.   Please tell newcomers that these books are available.  If the books aren’t checked out periodically they could wind up in the resale bin.

  • The North Scottsdale Fellowship Club hosts an ACA Speaker Meeting on the 4th Sunday of every month at 2pm.

  • World Service Organization Ballot results for 2013 Annual Business Conference (ABC)
  • Intergroup created a new bookmark for use as a reading tool and for spreading the word about the program.  Over the next month or so we will be distributing samples to all Arizona meetings.   Click here to see the new ACA bookmark.  Use the “ask Intergroup” tab above to inquire about the status of your samples.
  • The 2013 ACA Arizona Intergroup annual picnic was held on Saturday April 6th, from 11 to 3pm.
    The ACA Picnic was a successful event.  We had close to 40 people attend, good time was had by all, good food and fun, nice weather and the “Toss the Shame Ring” was enjoyed by all who participated. Thanks to all who pitched in helping set up, bring food and clean up.
  • Clare B. from the Surprise Meeting (NW of Sun City) is seeking ACA Speakers for her meeting.  She would like to have an ACA Speaker four times a year.  If you would like to share your experience, strength and hope with others, please contact Clare at cruisingclare@cox.net.  Help Clare build this meeting, while you help carry the message.
